Glór don Phobal

Reporting on local community events, commenting on issues effecting the wider community and providing community information on issues like social welfare entitlements, courses and classes etc.

We thought the best way to do this was to start up our own monthly newsletter and so in November 2002 Glór don Phobal was born.

From the outset we have worked hard to produce a bi-lingual publication with its unique bi-lingual crossword! The pages are always open to local people to tell stories, complain, ask questions, raise issues.

The publication is free of charge and paid for by our own fundraising. Local businesses provide prizes for the crossword and for other fundraising events to enable us to continue to keep the paper production and distribution free.

For future issues we hope to have more independent opinion and comment from people in the community.

Thanks for supporting the newsletter these past seven years and with your help we'll keep it speaking out!

Business Sponsors

We are looking for partnerships with local businesses who would support three issues of the newsletter and who would get free advertising or event/service promotion in return. The first of these is The Pinnacle Office Furniture Co. Ltd. who specialise in meeting the needs of schools, community groups and voluntary bodies. The Pinnacle are based near Newtowncunningham and cover the whole county on a next day basis. If you are interested in business/community sponsorship go to the contacts page and email the Editor.

For future issues we see room for improvement in its Gaeilge content, better photographic content and hopefully more independent opinion and comment from people in the community.
